A Terri’s Day of Remembrance Mass was celebrated on March 31, 2008 at 7 in the evening at St Patrick's Catholic Church in Largo, Florida.
Father Frank Pavone, Priests for Life, Father Thomas Euteneuer, Human Life International, Father Ed Palka of St. Rita's in Dade City, Florida, and Father Paul Pecchie, Pastor of St. Patrick’s Church in Largo, Florida celebrated this special mass for Terri's family and friends of the Schindler's.
Special Note
In 2008, because of the timing of Easter week, March 31 (Terri’s Day) also happens to be the day that the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Annunciation.
This is actually quite appropriate. The mystery of the Annunciation is the mystery of the Incarnation. God has joined Himself to our frail humanity and made it even more holy than it already was.
All of our sufferings, weaknesses, and disabilities are joined in a particular way to the Divine Nature. The celebration of the Annunciation calls us to see the glory of God shining through every human body and every human soul, no matter what affliction they may be carrying.
