On Tuesday, March 31, 2009, the National Mass for Terri's Day was celebrated at 5:15 in the evening on the beautiful campus of Ave Marie University at the Ave Maria Oratory (pictured), located near Naples, Florida. The National Terri’s Day Mass was celebrated in order to not only remember Terri but to remember the tens of thousands like Terri whose lives are in potential danger of being killed in the same way.
Father Frank Pavone, President of Priests for Life, gave a powerful and beautiful homily on Terri’s life and legacy. Father Robert Tatman, Pastor of Ave Maria along with close to a dozen priests concelebrated this special mass. In attendance were Mr. Thomas Monghan, founder of Ave Maria University, President Nick Healy, the Franciscan Brothers of Peace, Terri's family, and close to 1,000 friends and supporters.
