Book of the Month!

For all the moral desiccation of recent times, there is no reason to believe that the American people, once fully and fairly informed of what is at stake, cannot rouse themselves to resist the siren song of assisted suicide. Forced Exit is a fine place for them to begin their educationthe sooner the better.

The Terri Schindler Schiavo Foundation Announces Terris Day!
Week of January 28, 2008
Dear Friends,
As you know, on March 31st 2005, my sister Terri was cruelly and needlessly dehydrated to death while my family and millions of supporters stood by, unable to stop her court sanctioned death.
In an effort not to forget Terri, the Foundation along with Father Frank Pavone and Priests For Life announce International Day of Prayer and Remembrance for Terri Schindler Schiavo, and All of Our Vulnerable Brothers and Sisters (Terri's Day), to be observed each year on March 31st, the date of Terri's death.
The purpose of this day is to foster education, prayer, and activism regarding discrimination against the disabled, and advocacy for people in situations similar to what Terri and my family faced.
Please click on Terris Day to receive educational and prayer materials that can be used by parishes, disability and pro-life groups and all communities to observe Terri's Day.
As Fr. Pavone said, Those of us who were with Terri will never forget her life and her death. For the sake of all the vulnerable, it is critically important that those who never knew Terri likewise remember the lessons that God taught us through her.
On behalf of my family, we would like to sincerely thank you for your continued prayers and support.
Sincerely,
Bobby Schindler and the Schindler Family

The Modern Anthema of Living with Brain Damage
By Fr. Tad Pacholczyk
Many families are faced with decisions about what to do when their loved ones suffer serious brain injury.
When individuals are unlikely to come out of so-called "vegetative states," should we discontinue nourishing them by tube feeding? Is there anything wrong with causing patients in compromised states to die from starvation and dehydration under these circumstances?
We all lived through such a decision when Terri Schiavo died in 2005 in Florida. Her death raised disturbing ethical questions that continue to reverberate in society today.
